Best Budget Electric Shavers

There’s a broad range of different electric shavers from broad price ranges. Spending $200+ for a shaver doesn’t make much sense to some people. If you either can’t afford an expensive shaver or simply can’t justify forking out a wad of cash just to have something to shave your face with, then you should go with a budget shaver. Budget shavers are of course not quite as good as shavers in the mi-range and up, but they do get the job done. If your face gets dry and irritated easily when using a shaver, a wet & dry shaver is a good choice. Otherwise, there are plenty of dry shavers that will suit your needs.

Things you should consider in an electric shaver include battery life, whether or not you can use your shaver while it’s charging, how close of a shave you’ll get and whether or not it will pull your facial hairs during use. For under $25, you can indeed get a good shaver. To help you narrow down the long list of budget choices, here’s a list of five great electric shavers you can get for that price or even less.

Panasonic ES3831K Single Blade Travel Shaver

Panasonic ES3831K Single Blade Travel Shaver
This shaver uses a floating head that matches the contours of your face. Its ergonomic design fits nicely in your hand, allowing natural movements. It’s hypoallergenic and nickel free, so you don’t need to worry about getting rashes. The Panasonic ES3831K travel shaver is very easy to clean, just rinse it with water and that’s all that is necessary. You can use it in the shower as it’s water resistant. It has sufficient power with a motor speed of 8500 RPM and won’t cause bumps, pulling or irritation on your face.

The ES3831K runs on two AA batteries and comes with a brush. It can run for up to 90 minutes depending on what kind of batteries you use. At less than $15, this small, light shaver would be super handy to have. This is easily one of the best compact travel shavers out there for the money.

Philips Norelco HQ40/33 Shave on the Go Battery Razor

Philips Norelco HQ40/33 Shave on the Go Battery Razor
Unlike the Panasonic ES3831K, the Philips Norelco HQ40/33 has two blades. Its individually floating heads lift facial hairs to cut down to the root. It runs on two AA batteries, which are also included in the box. This pocket-sized travel shaver does a great job, but it’s important to note that it’s not a full-sized shaver. It will inevitably take a bit longer and require a few more pass overs to get a close shave than with a bigger shaver. The Norelco HQ40/33 is very quite though. You may even be able to use it in a hotel room without disturbing sleeping guests.

This travel shaver is dry-shave only, but won’t irritate your skin or pull hairs. The included cleaning brush makes it easy to clean off. You can’t wash it with water though because it’s not water resident. With fresh batteries, the Norelco HQ40/33 will run for up to 60 minutes. Depending on how long it takes you to shave, that could easily last you for weeks without a charge. For approximately $25, this shaver is a great value.

Remington F2-3800L with Flexing Foil Technology

Remington F2-3800L with Flexing Foil Technology
The Remington F2-3800L’s flexing foil head compensates and forms to the contours of your face with ease. Its high quality surgical steel blades won’t cause any irritation or allergic reactions, and are durable enough to stand the test of time. Though it doesn’t include the ability to do wet shaves, it handles dry shaves very well. It comes equipped with a convenient pop up trimmer that works very well to even out your sideburns. The Remington F2-3800L’s rechargeable battery lasts for 30 minutes, which equates to 20+ shaves. At just around $21, it’s very hard to beat the price for an electric shaver that does as good a job as this one.

Philips Norelco HQ6900/41 Shaver 1100

Philips Norelco HQ6900/41 Shaver 1100
The Norelco HQ6900/41’s self-sharpening blades and close-cut heads provide a very close shave. Philip’s Flex and Float system matches the contours of your face for a more comfortable shaving experience. Unlike most other electric shavers, it runs on corded power, so it has more gumption than you might expect. The integrated hair chamber and included brush make it quick to clean. The HQ6900/41 accommodates dry shaves only and can’t be washed with water. It includes a 45-day risk-free trial and a two-year warranty. It may not include a trimmer, but for roughly $25, it’s a great deal anyway.

Braun Smart Control 130s-1 Shaver 1 Count

Braun Smart Control 130s-1 Shaver 1 Count
This shaver features Braun’s patented SmartFoil for a close, comfortable shave. It can be cleaned by simply washing with water. Shaved hair stays in the shaver to keep the mess off of your bathroom counter or sink. It’s a corded shaver, so rather than having to rely on a battery that may or may not be drained, you know you can use it anytime as long as there’s an outlet nearby. It’s a single blade system, so you may have to pass over your face a few times to get really close. It has a pop up trimmer for hacking down beards before shaving them off or brushing up sideburns. The Braun Smart Control 130s costs about $23 and is an excellent choice for its price range.
